Patty Carroll | Anonymous Women: Draped

Women hidden behind luxurious fabrics, making themselves disappear within the decor. The fabrics have a hint of vintage in them, with motifs you could find in your grand-mother’s house. It reminds us of the Nuclear family: the women stay at home, cook, decorate and raise the children.

Patty Carroll is an american artist. For this series, her inspiration came from the place of women in society as well as nuns, women wearing the burka, the Virgin Mary, ancient Greek and Roman dress. By making these women invisible within their home, the artist’s idea was that as we perfect the space of our home, it can fuse with our identity.
