Looking at a mirror might be a bit vain. Now, looking at these mirrors is nothing but pure appreciation of beauty and craft.

If you know you are going to go crazy during the January sales, here’s a brilliant way of recycling the paper bags. These tiny trees cut out of paper bags are so intricate and realistic, it’s almost hard to believe they are hand-made.
Yuken Teruya is a Japanese artist and this series is called Notice-Forest. In each bag, the artist has cut the shape, branches and leaves of a tree he saw in his neighborhood or during a trip. These trees, although fragile looking and apparently protected by the bags they are cut out from, are actually the “pillars” that hold the bags up.

Everybody has Christmas in mind, including me. So in between work, Christmas shopping and preparation, I found these seasonal photographs by Sarah May. The first two are obviously very christmassy: a present and a tree, but the following ones made me think of some excellent conversation pieces for the dinner table. Something to talk about with those relatives you haven’t seen since last Christmas, like “Look how the bubble gum is the exact same colour of this pink rose!”, or more conceptual: “This orange flower looks like a Christmas tree that grew mistletoe on one of its branches”.
Sarah May is a London-based artist who likes creating painted still lifes, hand-made props, surrealist tableaux and animated films. Her clients include numerous fashion businesses such as Kate Spade, American Apparel and Russian Vogue.
